        The Maya and Teotihuacan: Reinterpreting Early Classic Interaction. Since the s, archaeologists have uncovered startling evidence of interaction between the Early Classic Maya and the great empire of Teotihuacan in Central Mexico.   The rise of the Gadianton influence beginning after AD in the Book of Mormon is a direct parallel to the rise of Teotihuacan's expanding influence, and the time period that saw the construction of many of the cement buildings in that city, including the temple of the feathered serpent which is now understood as dedicated to the cult of war.

      Oxygen-isotope ratios of enamel phosphate from a sample of first and third molars from burials in the important state of Kaminalijuyú, Guatemala, have been used to identify individuals who were born in foreign regions or who relocated during late childhood.
